CCNP Lab Design

Starfish vLabs have created an LLD and a lab aligned to the CCNP Enterprise ENCOR and ENARSI certification blueprint. We use this internally for exam preparation and testing configurations. However, we would now like to share it with the wider Networking community.

In this case, the lab has been designed to run in an EVE-NG environment, but it can easily be modified to run on other virtual environments or physical hardware. A follow-up blog will provide details of the configurations, which can be downloaded and edited to suit your personal needs.

The LLD itself follows the standard Starfish format of Physical, Logical, Routing, Services and Security. It provides mainly configuration variable information, with details and explanations of some technology and protocols. It does include various design schemes for dealing with Hostnames, Port Allocations, VLANs and IP Address Space.

To allow the flexibility to cover several CCNP Enterprise topics, multiple Spanning Tree and multiple routing protocols have been included, wherein in a real-world environment, only one may be selected. The design has also been compiled to be extensible and allow for editing.

Within the design, you will find the main Campus which includes DC, WAN, Internet and the Core network outlined. The Core part of the network interconnects all mentioned above including Wilton and Amazonia buildings. The rest of the design defines remote sites such as HQ or Henrys building which represents campus buildings indirectly attached.

Across these locations, there are various devices, including Cisco ASAv Firewalls, Cisco IOL (IOS Linux) Switches, and CSR100v routers. I hope you will find this design useful. If you do, then please follow us on LinkedIn for more technical content.
